Love letters to the Married in a Year™ Collective

Within the last year of believing God that people can get married in a Year, the biggest frustrations I have experienced from the multiple phone calls and DMs are quitting & postponing.

Quitting happens when the person decides this is not what they want to do with their faith anymore. While postponing happens when the person decides they would rather get to it some other time.

Grief is the underlying situation with both decisions. This grief hides itself in questions we do not dare to find answers to

  • Why have I waited so long and I have nothing to show for it?
  • So, I'm just going to walk away and have nothing to show for it?
  • Am I expected to do this all over again?

Faith feels like a losing battle when you look at it from inside the process. But, I heard Tye Tribbett recently say "When you stop enjoying the process, focus on the purpose of the process".

I am sure you don't just want any random person who is good to talk to but does not bring romance into your life or someone who brings romance but does not make your body and soul feel safe. I am sure you decided to go this long way because you wanted a love that fulfilled purpose, broke generational patterns and restored hope to you where life stole it.

You made a tall order and those take processes. I am simply saying, QUITTING/POSTPONING NOW IS EXPENSIVE.

So, if you are feeling the grief of being in the process or the grief from quitting the process at any point or even the grief of thinking "oh , I'm finally getting married" and things didn't pan out, kindly access the free Releasing the Grief resource. So, you can have faith that FINISHES WELL. As Travis Greene sang "It would be a bad idea to quit"

I do not offer you any false promise today. I am simply encouraging you to let God finish what He's started in you. Let yourself experience what it means to finish your process. Allow yourself get to the point where you can point at your spouse and say "THIS IS WHO I PRAYED FOR...YET, I GOT MORE".

Time for prayer

Dear God, teach me the gentle art of pacing my faith. Jesus knew you were with Him yet He never deliberately put himself in harm's way before the cross. Teach me how to stay protected out here. Let my faith never get compromised.

As I trust you for my marriage in this season, I don't just want to believe you on Monday but lose faith on Wednesday. Let my faith be from Monday to Monday until I walk into my miracle.

I ask for the stamina of Jesus; to believe in you still when it feels like all hell is let loose. Strengthen my faith that I stop bending every time a new/old information tells me marriage is not possible for me.

Teach me to keep my face like a flint. Let me not look left or right. Let me not assume this would end in shame. Instead, fill my heart with hope and courage that I may believe you for pleasant, pleasurable and protective love. In Jesus Name 🙌🏾

I love you; God loves you more

I enjoy writing these Love Letters to you every week.

Every Letter is written with the hope that something you read encourages you, challenges you, comforts you, or helps you take one more step towards the marriage of God's dreams for you.

After years of sitting in therapy sessions and coaching people through relationships and personal growth, I've learned something important: lasting change rarely comes from information you visit once in a while. Transformation happens by the power of repetition and strong emotional connections. Your desire for marriage is strong but have you repeated the right thing consistently without fail the last one year?

That's why I created The Collective.

It's designed to help you recognise the romantic opportunities God keeps bringing your way so can avoid unnecessary heartbreaks, recognise healthy relationships and move with speed, and clarity.
